Houston Heights Learning Academy Makes TBEC Honor Roll!

Houston Heights Learning Academy has been named to receive the Texas Business and Education Coalition's 2011 Honor Roll Award. Of the more than 8,000 Texas public schools less than 4% have been honored with this recognition.  We want to say thank you to the entire staff, administration, parents, and of course the students.

Mission Statement

The Houston Heights Learning Academy, Inc. will provide a high quality education for a community of learners from diverse socio-economic, racial and ethnic backgrounds. We believe that “all children can learn and deserve the best education, one that challenges and stimulates them to discover their own unique talents, abilities, and self-worth.”

Overview of the School

The Houston Heights Learning Academy, located in the Houston Heights community, is a small inner city school that is 58% Hispanic, 38% African American, 2% White and 2% other. The majority of our students live within this neighborhood. The students are rich in culture and heritage.  While ninety percent of our students are at risk because of their low socio-economic status, some students come from several miles away to attend HHLA.  Our staff is committed to providing a quality education to all students. The school climate is nurturing and friendly.
