Shared Decision Making

The shared decision making process is a collaborated effort, driven by mutual cooperation and respect.  Stakeholders make the major decisions regarding curriculum, instruction, and resource allocations that have implications on the entire school.

The decision making team is made up of all faculty members; an educational diagnostician, two parents, and the administrator.

The administrator is responsible for identifying problem areas and calling them to the attention of the committee.  She is also responsible for facilitating decision making by various groups, assisting with in-group dynamics, and in obtaining pertinent information.  In addition, the administrator is responsible for ensuing that the school decisions are implemented and that the resources are secured.

Any faculty, staff, and/or parent may request that an item be discussed at SIP meetings.  All agenda items must have performance implications for the entire school.  All agenda items to be discussed will be set at least one week prior to the meeting.  Also, after each meeting, minutes will be available in the main office and shared at parent meetings.
